In the era of information and technology, organizations must stay at the forefront of data gathering, security, reporting, and analysis. As a forward-thinking organization, FHL has developed a unique food access management software, SALTview. This software provides mission-critical information for process improvement, better community service, and reporting for funding.
According to the latest report from the Census Bureau, approximately 62% of Americans over the age of 25 lack a college degree. Recognizing the importance of education for personal advancement and the brighter future of society, FHL offers an Associate Degree in Community Development and Leadership. This course, unique in the Midwest, includes personalized assessments for all incoming students to establish a solid foundation for their journey to success.
Simply providing food to those in need may not suffice. This program acknowledges the interconnectedness of nutrition and health, emphasizing that making proper food choices can contribute significantly to the prevention and management of illnesses, particularly for the most vulnerable individuals.
A new branch of FHL dedicated to serving the growing Latino population. We aspire to be fully bilingual in all FHL operations, offering programs not only in Spanish but also incorporating Latin cultural approaches. FHL has a dedicated full-time Latino Director available to assist with any Latino-related inquiries and in leading the FHL Latino programs.
(FHL) was founded in 2005. FHL’s mission is to “help eradicate food insecurity, end hunger and leverage the power of food to build healthy communities.” FHL is a catalyst for change by engaging in relationships with food insecure neighbors on their path to self-sufficiency through Missional Food Pantry Training. Through the years, FHL has incubated numerous Missional Food Pantries and innovative ministries.
It’s not about food, it’s about people! Going beyond providing food, FHL has trained and mobilized over 200 churches in Indiana since 2005 to engage in local missions. With a focus on redefining the food access landscape, FHL ensures pantry volunteers understand the deeper needs of people, enabling them to refer individuals to other community resources for long-term sustainability. FHL trains and mobilizes pantries to serve those in need with both spiritual and physical food.
A branch of FHL, serves as a link connecting charitable food sources, like food pantries, with individuals who are homebound and facing food insecurity. Through a partnership with a national organization, we facilitate the delivery of food to vulnerable populations such as the elderly, those with physical or mental disabilities, and single parents lacking personal transportation.
